Médica cirujana egresada del Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario en Bogotá Colombia, Especialista en Medicina del Trabajo de la Escuela Colombiana de Medicina. Cursó la Maestría en Ciencias y el Doctorado en Salud Pública con énfasis en Epidemiología en la Escuela de Salud Pública de México. En la actualidad es Jefa de Departamento en Área Médica B con Funciones de Prevención y Control de Tabaquismo en el Instituto Nacional de Salud Pública (INSP), Investigador en Ciencias Médicas F y miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (SNI III). En México, ha liderado proyectos de investigación en las áreas de estimación de costos de atención médica de enfermedades crónicas y el cáncer y de evaluación de impacto epidemiológico y económico de factores de riesgo como el tabaco, el virus del papiloma humano y contaminantes ambientales. 

Desde el año 2005, la Dra. Reynales lidera el Departamento de Prevención y Control de tabaquismo del Instituto Nacional de Salud Pública desarrollando proyectos de investigación relacionados con la política fiscal de productos de tabaco, la prevención de las Enfermedades no Transmisibles y el alcance de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible, las publicaciones más recientes relacionadas con el evento “Strengthening the leadership of Mexico, Colombia and India to advance tobacco conrol policy, the Global Tobacco Economic Consortium Meeting”.
